This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Thunderstorms will linger into this morning. A few strong storms
may bring gusty winds and small hail.

A high swim risk due to expected dangerous waves and currents is
in place for most counties bordering Lake Michigan today. See the

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...High waves of 3 to 7 feet and strong currents leading to
  dangerous swimming conditions.

* WHERE...Emmet, Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, Western Mackinac,
  Eastern Mackinac and Charlevoix Counties, and Beaver Island
  and surrounding islands.

* WHEN...From 7 AM EDT this morning through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water
  and high waves can sweep people off piers. Cold water
  temperatures in the upper 40s and 50s Fahrenheit will also bring
  the risk of hypothermia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
